DARLINGTON RACEWAY COLLECTS THOUSANDS OF FOOD ITEMS, MONETARY DONATIONS DURING CAN FOOD DRIVE

DARLINGTON, S.C. (Nov. 22, 2013) – Due to the overwhelming generosity of its local community, Darlington Raceway collected thousands of food items and cash donations during its two-week long can food drive. The drive collected over 3,000 non-perishable items and over $1,100 in monetary donations. The food and monies will benefit two local food pantries, The Lord Cares of Darlington and Harvest Hope of the Pee Dee.

Joliet, Ill. – November 19, 2013 – In the wake of severe weather that ripped through central Illinois, Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway are organizing a food and clothing drive to assist the communities of Washington, Ill., Diamond, Ill. and Coal City, Ill. Beginning today through Monday, Nov. 25, race fans and community members are encouraged to join these efforts by dropping off non-perishable food items and/or gently worn clothing to the Chicagoland Speedway administrative building (500 Speedway Boulevard, Joliet, IL 60433). The building will be open for donations between 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. the remainder of the week.

ROUTE 66 RACEWAY AND JOLIET TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS UNVEIL BANNERS BENEFITING JOLIET AREA COMMUNITY HOSPICE

On Monday, Route 66 Raceway and Joliet Township High School unveiled the result of a seven-month long partnership designed to provide students with hands-on business experience while also benefiting Joliet Area Community Hospice. This partnership, labeled The Route 66 Raceway 15th Anniversary Banner Project, engaged students in design, marketing and sales resulting in a total of eight banners being sold. Students from both Joliet Central and Joliet West designed banners and were on hand for their debut Monday afternoon at the drag strip.
