Darlington Raceway, the track that’s Too Tough To Tame, is partnering with the local Pee Dee Chapter of the American Red Cross to host a “Drive for Disaster Relief” on Friday, June 7 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The Drive for Disaster Relief will give fans the opportunity to drive their personal vehicles on the high banks of Darlington Raceway for a financial donation, which will benefit American Red Cross Disaster Relief. Any donation amount in the form of cash or check will be accepted to participate in the Drive for Disaster Relief.

DARLINGTON RACEWAY COLLECTS OVER 400 UNITS OF BLOOD FOR THE AMERICAN RED CROSS IN 2013

DARLINGTON, S.C. (Sept. 19, 2013) – Race fans and members of the Pee Dee community joined Darlington Raceway on Wednesday, Dec. 18 for a special Holiday Blood Drive, collecting a total of 73 units for the American Red Cross. For the year, Darlington Raceway collected over 400 units of blood for the local chapter of the American Red Cross. With each unit having the ability to help up to three patients in need, Darlington Raceway’s efforts helped over 1,200 people in their community in 2013.

Darlington Raceway Collects 380 Units Of Blood For Pee Dee Region American Red Cross In 2013

Race fans and community members joined Darlington Raceway on Patriots Day for the eighth annual 9/11 Darlington Raceway Blood Drive. A total of 183 units of blood were collected on Wednesday. Combined with the 197 units of blood collected during Darlington Raceway’s Bojangles’ Southern 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend in May, the track Too Tough To Tame has collected 380 units of blood for the Pee Dee chapter of the American Red Cross. With each unit having the ability to help up to three patients in need, Darlington Raceway’s efforts will help approximately 1,140 people in our community.

Spirit of America 800 Brings People Together of All Ages

Wayne Carpenter knows how to give blood. The Adrian, Mich., native has been giving blood since 1958, donating regularly at various blood drives throughout the area.
